Shurlean McVea | Unsolved Murder | Cold Case

There is not a lot of information on this beautiful young lady but in these day and ages could something possibly jog your memory? Were you in the area and seen this young lady be hurt, snatched or witnessed something that was out of the ordinary, I don't know who is fighting for her now I have tried endlessly to get connections or ties with no avail.... almost 28 years have expired since her her fatal death if you have any information follow the links below or contact the numbers listed below.

On Thursday, December 5, 1991, the body of 13-year old Shurlean McVea was found just four blocks from her home in the back yard of a residence on Scottwood Road, 2900 block of Scottwood Road, about four blocks from the home where she lived with foster parents on Halleck Drive. on Columbus’ eastside. She had been badly beaten about the head and face and strangled. Due to mental challenges of both her parents and the inability to take care of her, Shurlean had become a ward of Franklin County at a very young age. At the time of her disappearance and death she was in the foster care system. On December 3, 1991, after a classmate and the classmate’s parent dropped Shurlean off at her foster residence, witnesses saw Shurlean at about 3:25pm, in the area of the Columbus Public Library and Barnett Recreation Center at Livingston Avenue and Barnett Road.  At the time of her disappearance, Shurlean’s hair was in a ponytail to one side and she was wearing a white sweatshirt, blue jeans, green suede shoes, and a ¾ length blue coat.
