As you most know, if you know me personally I am from Columbus, Ohio so this story means a lot to me being that we are both near the same age, I am familiar with the area and was present during the time this happened in Columbus, I just returned back to from living in DMV area when I first seen this story air.  I know there are tons of Web-sleuths who cover different stories and have different ideas of what may have happened I will provide as much information as possible and the current updates that I have found/researched.

White shirt w/ black leggings and black flip flops & pink and grey Northface Jacket other reports have her wearing a pink and gray shirt and black sweatpants.

I have added pictures of the style of Northface jackets that women in the area typically wear because the weather is really just its own person in Ohio.

Please note this may or may not be the style of jacket she is wearing just giving an idea of the Northface jackets women typically tend to wear in this area it was mentioned that she was last seen around 1:00AM which it would have been chilly (Yes, even in June) depending on the weather.

Details

Shaniece was last seen on 6/19/2013 during the weekend she attended a birthday cookout for her mother which her mother returned to work on 6/18/2013 and was contacted by the boyfriend of Shaniece indicating that she was missing some sites are indicating 2 days later which if the case is extremely alarming because it seems like her and family were very close from the news broadcast linked below also the following from Channel 10:

"It was two days later when Williams said she got the call that Shaniece was gone. "Her boyfriend called and asked 'is Shaniece over there?'" Williams recalled. Williams said Shaniece's boyfriend said her purse was on the kitchen table and her kids were there sleeping."

That conversation led to a search for Briggs, but she has not been found. - Channel 10

She walked out the back door at 1:00 a.m., taking her wallet and cellular phone. She didn't take her keys or purse and she left the door unlocked. She also left her four young children behind at the apartment. Ms. Briggs is a mother of four children ages 6, 5, 2, and 1 (ages reported at time of report)

A neighbor reported seeing Briggs being pushed into a black car parked in front of the apartment complex. She has never been heard from again and since her disappearance there hasn't been any activity on her financial accounts.

Afterthoughts.

This is the front of where Shaniece was currently living at the time, it is not typical to use this during the night from my experience. Her place was between 17th and 18th St and a lot these side streets in the area are one way. Both streets allows cars to come down both sides accept for 18th when approaching the same side where Shaniece's home is located it becomes a alley/one way. 18th st is actually the most irritating streets I have ever went down because of this, using GPS it is a nightmare down that street because of the long stretch it takes and this one way split to Mt. Vernon.
There is a corner store directly diagonal from her home I am sure if she looked out her front window she could see it. Which leads to the question I am sure it was not open at the time but cameras? I am 100% cameras were visible around this entire area even street cameras we have had them installed for a while in the Columbus, Ohio area we have the largest street surveillance in Ohio actually..

  • If she stepped away leaving the door unlocked with her children inside grabbing the phone doesn't shock me, I take my phone literally everywhere nothing about the details indicates intent
  • Why would a reward not be offered? It really seems if no one picked up steam on this from the police department this frustrates me about the news in our area anyways, they show missing people once and never mention them again. I hardly ever see posters in our area or the area where people go missing.
  • Was the surveillance in the front and back of the house looked at? Was her phone pinged? Did anyone try to get a hold of her phone records and see who she was last in contact with? Was the entire area searched? for signs of a struggle or belongings, it was said she was last wearing flip-flops being forcefully put into car would definitely not keep those on unless they may have had a strap.
  • What was the description fully of that car outside of it just being a 'black car'? If this occurred in the front of the apartment someone definitely seen something that area always people out and about at all hours of the night.
  • I don't know about you but the ages of those kids at the time of this happening I do not see them not panicking or asking for help for such a long period of time.
There are so many questions and not enough answers and she was an absolutely beautiful young lady from what I can see, and even more there are four children left without a mother. I would like to add the snippet of information from CrimeStoppers:

"Shaniece Briggs missed her son’s kindergarten graduation and her youngest child’s 1st birthday. It was reported to investigators that this is unusual because Briggs was a good mother who loved her children."

My heart sincerely goes out to this family I wanted to reach out before doing my blog but I was unable to locate and feel uncomfortable honestly reaching out to family just because this is such a sensitive situation and no one wants to intrude on people's privacy and grieving doesn't ever seem to go away.

Please feel free to share this story and add comments below also there is a #findShanieceBriggs #HelpUsFindShaniece hashtags on Facebook if you would like to share the post with her information. Also please be respectful in the comments it is greatly appreciated.
